Oscars 2011 will start at 8pm Eastern time or 5pm Pacific time on February 27 (8am, February 28, Philippine Time)and it will be held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California.

Half-Filipino Hailee Steinfield gets a Best Supporting Actress nomination in Oscars

Another great talent of Filipino roots is making the country proud after being nominated for a Best Supporting Actress award in the prestigious Oscar Awards 2011.

The 14-year old Hollywood actress Hailee Steinfield played the role of Mattie Ross in the movie True Grit. Her mother Cheri is Filipino-American and is an interior designer. While his dad Peter is Jewish and works as a personal fitness trainer.
