'iDol', 3rd Shortest-running ABS-CBN Primetime Show

As the kantaserye 'iDol' featuring Sarah Geronimo, Sam Milby and Coco Martin ends this October 22 after cancellation due to production and schedule constraints, it is going to be the 3rd shortest-running primetime show aired on the Kapamilya network, ABS-CBN. With a total of 35 episodes on its finale, 'iDol' is number 3 in top 10 shortest Kapamilya shows of all time, next only to a 2007 show Princess Sarah with 30 episodes .

'iDol' (ABS-CBN) axed due to Poor Ratings?

A fellow blogger reported that the kantaserye 'iDol' which is being aired on ABS-CBN and stars Sarah Geronimo, Sam Milby, and Coco Martin has been canceled due to poor ratings and 'lack of chemistry' between Sarah and Sam.



However ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head, Bong Osorio explained, "Idol, which was planned to be a 10-week series will end after eight weeks due to constraints in production and schedule. Its last episode will be on October 22. We wish to thank everyone who supported Idol."

Noypi has to agree that there is not much 'kilig' factor between Sarah and Sam nor Sarah and Coco. I guess something also went wrong on the plot and presentation of the 'singing' scences. What do you think?

'iDol: The Premiere' Ranks 3rd in Nationwide Rating

'iDol', the newest 'Kantaserye' in ABS-CBN primetime got 30% nationwide ratings during its premier episode last Monday. The ratings made the show rank third, next only to 'TV Patrol' (34.7%) and leading 'Momay' (27.1%) which are both ABS-CBN shows. On the other hand, 'Noah', another ABS-CBN show was first on the list with 35.6% ratings.

iDol (ABS-CBN): Da Vince Code Band (Pictures)

From what I understand, after losing Billie (Sarah Geronimo), Vince (Sam Milby) will head a band later in the show, iDol (ABS-CBN). The band will be called 'Da Vince Code.' It will be comprised of the real-life brothers, DJ and Micah Lemar as well the 3am Band members; Micael 'Mica' Caldito, James Torres, and Kyle Alandy Amor.

iDol Pilot Episode Airs Tonight

The most anticipated ABS-CBN primetime show, 'iDol' will air its pilot episode tonight entitled 'iDol: The Premier' . iDol (or 1Dol) is a star-studded musical show featuring OPM singers and actors as well as new faces and talents. Everyone is excited to know how the show would turn out.

• Sarah Geronimo as Belinda "Billie/Jean" Suarez- She is an ordinary girl with an extraordinary voice who has always dreamt of becoming a famous singer. But a greater challenge awaits her as she’s forced to start a new life and create a new identity with her family.

The pilot episode (iDol: The Premier) of ABS-CBN's upcoming TV series, iDol, will be aired simultaneously on Studio 23 this Monday, September 6, at 8:30PM. Cinema One will also show it at 9:00 PM.

A new show is to hit the Philippine TV this coming Monday, September 6, 2010.

The kantaserye which is entitled 'iDol' will be aired on primetime. The casts include Sarah Geronimo, Sam Milby, Coco Martin among many others.

ASAP XV's Launches A-Pop

After successful performances by the four young male singers together in the show, ABS-CBN's Sunday top-rating noon-time variety show, ASAP XV, has officially launched a new singing group called, 'A-Pop', today. The new group is composed of the 'Little Big Star' champion, Sam Conception; Ilo-ilo RnB/Hip-hop pride Young JV or Eduardo JV Kapunan II; the Filipino-Colombian 'MYX VJ Search 2009' winner, Nel Gomez; and the acoustic singer, Jaco Benin.
