Today is the final day to vote in our "Tim Gunn's Co-Host?" poll.

From The Mailbox

According to this interview in The Miami Herald, Veronica Webb will not be Tim Gunn's co-host in season two of "Guide to Style." No surprise there... Who will be the new co-host? Does Tim even need one?

Ricky Lizalde will be showing his designs during Escondido's Fashion Week.

According to WWD, Elle Magazine still hasn't hired a replacement for Nina Garcia. Here is the relevant paragraph:

ELLE RAISER: Though Elle and former fashion director Nina Garcia have not yet settled on the terms of their future working relationship (nor her relationship to "Project Runway," since Elle is contracted to the show through season five), the magazine elevated several staffers, including Garcia's old assistants, to fill the gap. First, Kate Lanphear, senior style and market editor who is said to be a possible successor for Garcia, has been promoted to style director. Joann Pailey, formerly senior fashion market editor, was promoted to market director. Also, Jade Frampton was elevated to a market editor and Malina Joseph has been named fashion bookings editor. A replacement for Garcia, who was fired from her position earlier this month, has not yet been appointed.

BPR Interview With Ricky Lizalde

Some thought he stayed far too long, but Ricky Lizalde fought through his tears and early struggles long enough to taste the winners circle in the Levi's challenge. As we learn in our recent chat, he's been able to keep his head high long after the lights have dimmed.

BPR: Hi Ricky - what an emotional ride this experience was for you. Do you have any regrets about letting it all hang out on the show?

RL: No regrets!! I know that some people may be sick of the crying.... me too!! but I am a stronger and better person and designer for the experience....

BPR: What was the reaction of your family and friends to your elimination?

RL: All my friends and family rooted for me to go all the way.... sorry guys... they are sad but hopeful of my future!!...Me too

BPR: You have been a successful lingerie designer for many years now. Why Project Runway at this stage of your career?

RL: I went on PR to show people who I am........ although I didn't realize you would get to know me so personally.... making it in a business like the fashion industry is hard enough I just thought w/ a little luck hard work and heart I could really do something on the show.......long story short to help my business...

BPR Love for Ricky Lizalde

You were Season 4's little lamb and like Andrae Gonzalo of Season 2 you always wore your heart on your sleeve. Project Runway was an emotional experience for you but the tears were happy ones last week when you won the denim challenge. Your Levi's dress sold out within hours of being available for purchase proving that customers embraced the iconic look that you created. You are a successful lingerie designer and Project Runway was indeed the forum to create beyond the boudoir and demonstrate your point-of-view and versatility. You can be proud, Ricky, that you stayed so long in this talented group as you use this experience as a launching pad into other fashion ventures.

This post is only for positive words for Ricky Lizalde. If you have anything negative to say, please click here.

Ricky's Winning Design

Ricky Lizalde's Denim Dress is now available! It is $168.00 and available in sizes 2 - 16. Click here for more info.

Were you inspired by the challenge? Think you could invent something fabulous from a pair of 501s and/or a trucker jacket? Enter your design at Project 501 and your winning design could be produced and sold on Levi.com.

ETA: This garment is sold out!

Congratulations, Ricky

The tears for you this week were ones of happiness. Denim and lingerie seem polar opposites but you provided yourself equally adept at working in both milieus. The sun dress silhouette you created using curvy seams is feminine and the iconic button fly front placket would flatter a wide range of figures. The bodice showed your understanding of tailoring and the turned-down detail was suggestive but not vulgar. This dress is charming and one that many women would want in their wardrobes; how fortunate for them that your reward this week is that Levi's will sell a limited edition of this dress and that proceeds will benefit YouthAIDS. Good show, Ricky!

This post is ONLY for positive words for Ricky Lizalde or for the dress he designed. Any other thoughts belong in our Reactions post here.
