Facebook will end on March 15, 2011?!

A "news" website published yesterday, January 8, 2011, an article saying that the most popular social networking website in the world, Facebook is about to end its service this March 15th. According to the article, Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg announced its shut down on that day since it has gotten out of control.

“Facebook has gotten out of control and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

The article also quoted a said interview of Avrat Humarthi, Facebooks' Vice President of Technical Affairs:

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down. So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

It also added a said private telephone interview of Zuckerberg:

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal. And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Hahaha! Who would believe that? And who would believe a site which broke the news that Megan Fox is a Man, that Spaceships are to attack Earth on 2011, and Miley Cyrus to do Playboy. Lol.

Yeah, the site is a hoax site. They create non-existing news. :D

Facebook shutting down?

Did you received a message from your friend that Facebook is shutting down? Initial reaction would be of course, download tons of pictures and videos uploaded to your Facbook account and probably permanently delete your account.

That's absurd. Here's an excerpt of the news posted at Weekly World News.

PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March. Managing the site has become too stressful.

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

It may sound too good to be true, ah? Well, don't carried away immediately because it's obviously an Internet hoax. There have been so many Internet hoax spreads like a wild fire last year, just like the news that  Justin Bieber, A Disguised 51 Year Old Pedophile.

I'm not really an addict or a player to any games in Facebok but I'm certainly a FreeCell card game player. But what I really don't like are invitations to various games as mentioned from the title. I'm fine with that requests, invitations  and other page suggestions but I'm still looking for an option to simply select all of those and click Ignore All. 


Hi Mark Zuckerberg, can we have that option? There are times that I got flood from my Facebok with those invitations and requests. If only I could just press Control + A then Delete button from my keyboard, you know I would.

Anyway, I guess I just run out of topic to blog today that's why I bother myself to post this. And oh I almost forgot, there's also Mafia Wars invitations :) woot

Penpal : Looking for penpal?

I wonder if penpal is still in today. It depends on ones definition of penpal, as observed today, only few would bother to write a lengthy of paragraphs in a paper.

 In a technology today, getting acquainted to a person can be in many medium. It could be cellular phone, email, chat, or popular social networking sites like Facbook.

I remember way back in high school, people also get acquainted by two-way radios. Another form of media for socializing which didn't last that long in my opinion.   But for some of us during those days write letters to other schools to meet new friends. Philippine Post Office conducted seminar to encourage us to write letters and have friends from other schools. Unfortunately, I think none of us tried to.

What's the difference of penpal or online friends today? Ideally, none. But in speed of correspondence or let say connection, the difference could be a million miles really. It's beyond compare to what we have before. Mail from a post office is usually called as "Snail Mail", now who would like to receive a mail that will be received for a month or two. Who would want to full their garbage bin in a whole night just writing a letter?

Writing in a sheet of paper a way cheaper than typing in a computer using your keyboard.

In my post Friendster will be closing soon, I mentioned that Facbook is becoming more popular each today.

Globally in Alexa top 500 sites, Facbook is still number two while number one in Philippines. Top sites in Philippines haven't change a lot but noticeably Friendster dropped down from number three to six.

Why join Facbook? What I really like most is connecting with family, friends, relatives, ex-classmates, neighbor is so easy, with the help of Suggestions corner. There's also a Family Link application wherein you can tag your friend as your relative, say cousin. If your cousin will add new relative, you will also be notified and check if you're related to that person added by your cousin.
