Have you noticed today's Google logo or doodle? If you mouse over the image will show the title John Lennon's 70th birthday which will be celebrated on October 9. A great treat for Octoberfest right?

John Lennon's birthday this year will be celebrated with lots of different activities hosted by different groups. There will be concerts, museum, a discussions and screening of documentaries  as tribute, sealing of a time capsule filled with Lennon’s music and items contributed by fans and a lot more.

I'm so glad that John Lennon's will have an en-grande celebration. For this will give today's generation to know more about famous personalities who have a lot of contribution in music industry not just a solo artist but also a group. Lennon is also a member of the most popular band in the 60's with their song being played and revive time and time again. This year The Beatles (Lennon's band group), was also tribute by reality talent search American Idol in which contestants performed hit songs of the said band. One of the songs who became a hit after performed in AI was Across the Universe which was also revived by Fiona Apple.

I've watch one of the documentaries about his life in Discovery Channel which features his life in New York having a death threats and even wire tapped his telephone and already anticipated his death sooner. Anyway, here's a few excerpt from Wikipedia about his life as an activist.

Lennon revealed a rebellious nature and acerbic wit in his music, his writing, on film, and in interviews, and became controversial through his work as a peace activist. He moved to New York City in 1971, where his criticism of the Vietnam War resulted in a lengthy attempt by Richard Nixon's administration to deport him, while his songs were adapted as anthems by the anti-war movement. Waka waka performed by Shakira during FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony

One of the highlights during the Opening Ceremony of FIFA World Cup 2010 was the Kick-off concert performs by various prestigious artist like Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys and other known artists.

In every FIFA World Cup there are official ball match, mascot and of course official song. FIFA World Cup 2010's Official Song this year is entitled Waka waka (Time for Africa) and presented by Shakira and the band Freshlyground.The song is so lively and I like how Shakira delivers the song during the Kick-off concert.

I will surely watch this song perform during the final FIFA World Cup 2010 on July 11.

With the lost of our "Diligent and Hardworking" colleague as described by Ark, we extend our condolence to the family of Restie Barrion who passed away yesterday due to heart attack / heat stroke. Life's seems so easy to be taken away from us. It was sort of unforgettable experience for me to see him taking his last breath while we were all trying to calm him or we didn't actually know that he needs to be revive by then.

Dying may be the hardest part in everyone's life but then we really have to accept that will eventually come unexpectedly. Just like our colleague who just came to the office from an errand job but suddenly collapsed and fell out to the floor.

From the Crossroads video below, I could imagine the soul taker yesterday walk by from us and took the soul of our colleague. Such a goosebumps experience yesterday. Yet another Sunday rest day. Here's another glam rock band that I really like way back in high school. Def Leppard's When Love and Hates Collide, one of their popular songs. But wait there's more! Taylor Swift joined the band in a live performance. Cool isn't it? Imagine a famous band way back in late 80's to early 90's will be jamming with one of the hottest country artist who was unfortunate to experience a protest from Kanye West when she was about to receive her award in MTV Awards last year. There was also an issue from that Taylor Swift dead spreads over the Internet last year.

Based from comments of this video from Youtbe, some likes it some does not. Why? Well, for an avid fans of Def Leppard they sure like to see them being appreciate more than Taylor Swift. Like this comments :

As for Taylor Swift's fans, it's way cool because she gave out another lively performance and explored into another music genre. Of course they wouldn't acknowledge Def Leppard that much because they're quite old and haven't seen them when they were at their peak of their career.

Green Day's Good Riddance (Time of your life)

In response to Ark's comments about adding Green Day's songs to my compilation, I'm adding Good Riddance (Time of your life) lyrcis,lyics and video as my first entry for this artist :). Why this song? It's just one of my favorites among Green Day's songs. The song is in Green Day's Nimrod album released on October 14, 1997 and got double platinum.

Also, the video won Best Alternative Video from MTV Awards in 1998 competing wtih  Ben Folds Five — "Brick", Garbage — "Push It", Radiohead — "Karma Police", and The Verve — "Bitter Sweet Symphony" makes me likes it more. I know a lot of people who likes Alternative rock back in 90's loves this also ;)

As for the message of the song, it's about how fast life come and go. I also some of the lines like "Time grabs by the wrist,directs you where to go". We really don't where we'll be as time goes along, be it work or family.

My Lyrcis, lyics compilation project

Since most of my blog posts are into an Entertainment site particularly Music, I have decided to post Lyrcis,  Lyics compilation :) Yes! It's really Lyrcis and lyics. Frankly I want to attract traffic out of this misspelled keyword but be able to offer some of my compiled song Lyrcis, lyics.

Lyrcis, lyics are just two of the most misspelled keywords looking for lyrics I have decided to optimized. As I mentioned earlier about my blog are likely into a music blog, I have also posts labeled with this keywords to help people with find some of the songs they're looking for. Annually, lyrics keyword is in top 100 keywords being search globally and having this project lyrcis , lyics compilation will somehow give a market share in traffic.

Some of the bands' songs lyrcis and lyics I'm going to compile are Ugyly Kid Joe, Dishwalla, Aerosmith, Nerf Herder, Honor Society and more bands in Alternative, punk, reggae and other sub-genre of rock. I have also posted some solo artists like Katy Perry, Alanis Morissette, Shawn Colvin, and oh Justin Bieber too ;). Also, I won't be limiting my blog posts to the generation I grow up with but also to classic bands like The Beatles, Beach Boys (soon), and of course not too soon are artists like Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra (born Dec. 12 like me). Song is about a dad who's so busy with his career to provide living for his family.The story is very common in tv shows and movies and most of it in real life. As a dad, also working 8hrs a day, I still make sure that I spend most of my non-working day with my son. Indeed the lyrcis is a sort of advice to me that if I don't give quality time with my son I'll be growing old having my son's not close with mine.

The Cat's In the Cradle song was originally performed by Harry Chapin, a folk rock artists. The lyrcis was of course done by Harry Chapin. Reading its entry from Wikipedia, I do admit that I'm one of those who were confused with the original version. [Wikipedia] "Cat's in the Cradle" is widely mistakenly credited to artist Cat Stevens ". All the time I really thought that Cat Stevens was the original artist of the song. But I also thought that it was covered by Cat Stevens or he was the second generation.

But I was never confused that Cat's In the Cradle lyrcis was covered by Gun's n Roses. [Wikipedia ] The cover of the song by Ugly Kid Joe is furthermore often confused for a cover by Guns N' Roses. Never I am got confused.

For me, being a music lover means able to appreciate or even love most or even all types of music genre. I must say I'm really a music lover. I listen from classic, rock, pop, r n b and lately even to Barney's song (by the influence of my son Izian). Among the classic music or 60's band in particular, The Beatles is one of them.

Since my blog is more likely being a compilation of my favorite songs and other music related stuff, I'll be adding Across the Universe originally performed by The Beatles. As for the video I attached, it's Fiona Apple's version.

Until I wake up, I don't know why does the title just came out to my mouth when I was about to sleep last night. Since I remember that there was a song Until I Wake Up, I immediately proceeded to Youtube and look for the song.

While watching the video, I missed my wife even more because I remember the clips from the movie Sweet November which we have watched together included in the video below. I remember mocking her when we watched drama movies. I would simply look at her and see if there are tears already falling from her eyes. My wife is indeed an emotional woman.Also, the movie title is very timely because my wife left last November to work abroad. It isn't sweet after all. It was damn sad to be left behind. That's life.

Now, I'm looking forward watching movies together with my wife again. (sad) It really feels so sad to watch movies alone. To my wife, I miss you ;) take care always.

Ako ang Simula! and Upuan by Gloc 9

Just another trip blog. This is just a mere parody of the chorus part of the song Ako ang Simula.

Since the song Ako ang Simula of the ABS-CBN has been playing for long time now. I decided to trip blog what I have sang this afternoon. I was just thinking that a lot of new or first time voters have been actively participating to the ABS-CBN program's Boto Mo -Patrol Mo and been voicing out their opinions, observations and etc. I also thought how bout those who don't really care about the election. Well, there's nothing we can really do about them. Voters education has been there ever since I was just a kid and nothing has ever changed.

With the new campaign slogan of the ABS-CBN, Ako ang Simula ng Pagbabago, I hope that many of us will realized how powerful we are during the election compare to those who are going to win. Joining this kind of effort will give our first or non first time voters a broader opinion and background about their candidates. I really hope and pray that if not at most at least 50% decrease in all aspect of our countries' problem will be lessen. Or should I write this instead to GMA's Wish ko lang? If we then failed with our hopes to the newly elected president, should I send a mail to Maalala Mo Kaya how I was saddened to my wasted vote? How stupid can I be.

Btw, this was what I had sang this afternoon. "Ako ang simula ng PAGNANAKAW". It was just part of the chorus, maybe some of the creative minds out there will share their own version too.
I also thought, does the politician who are so eager to Serve the public also have the idea of that? Well, let's just wait and see.

Been listening to this year's version of We are the world 2010 over and over again. Generally speaking I would say that I like it because the proceeds of their effort will go to Haitian. People who really needs our help right now.


Comparing the new version of We are the world 2010, I must say that I really like the original version. Well, whatever version it is, what matter is that they gathered together to help those in need.

Firstly, who's this artist?Shawn Colvin, an American singer-songwriter born January 10,1956. Here in Philippines particularly Cotabato, I think she's not that popular during the peak of her career. Can't comment in Philippine wide though.

I've heard her song Sunny Came Home around 1998. By that time, Alanis Morissette was already popular and Shawn Colvin in my opinion was trying her luck to be line-up with Alanis Morissette.
