Give it the Boot

Every winter in Australia, my mother and I are always on the lookout for amazing new boots. There is just something so great about knowing that we will splash out about a grand once every winter season comes just on the perfect pair of boots. I know, not the best way to spend money but my wardrobe is very happy about this long fashion tradition. With my mother, she tends to go for the more trend-oriented classic styles which look good this season but who’s to say it won’t look just as fabulous the next? But with me, I don’t honestly know why but I have a huge weakness for boots which are just quirky, different and hard-to-come by. I think this developed through this one time when I bought a pair of super expensive flat Jimmy Choo leather boots (mine was brown/tan and my mum bought the black ones) and although I felt, and still do feel very satisfied every time I wear them and take them out receiving a million complements every now and then, it was shocking to see the cheaper chain stores selling something ever-so-similar for $50! From then on, I have always been more lenient to the more unique designs which are so fabulously signature a brand. However, I have to say that within my entire shoe closet when it comes to boots; my forever classic favourites were purchased at a small boutique in Sydney and only cost me $300 reduced from $900. Not to mention, they are turquoise.
